COMPANY
HISTORY
RGD Corporation Pty Ltd, the manufacturer of RainLight, was established in 1946
by Mr Ron Grant whose family had a long history in the metal casting industry in Australia.
From the early years of supplying metal castings to a variety of manufacturers the company
progressed to become a significant manufacturer of irrigation products within Australia,
today RGD have agents marketing their products in all states of Australia.
1994 saw RGD achieve an award for “Outstanding Performance in Business” presented
by BRW & Price Waterhouse, in the same year RGD was appointed to the “Top 100 List”
of the “Fastest Growing Private Companies” within Australia.
1995 was the year that the RainLight division was created to provide the landscape lighting
market with a range of quality low voltage lights. All RainLight lights are cast, machined and
assembled in the RGD factory in Perth, Western Australia.
The RGD factory gained CSA (Canadian Standard Association) and UL (USA) standards
approval in March 2002, this allows RGD to manufacture RainLight lights for sale on the USA
and Canadian markets.
IP68, which is the highest approval available from Standards Australia and recognised
throughout Europe, UK, Asia and Australia, was obtained by RGD for the majority of the
RainLight sealed lights (see individual lights on website). This IP68 approval guarantees
the complete protection against entry of dust (6) and protection against the entry of water
during continuous submersion up to one metre (8).
RGD are committed to manufacturing quality products and by using the highest quality components,
coupled with their long history and knowledge of metal casting, they are confident in providing a
TEN YEAR GUARANTEE against corrosion on the RainLight range of products.
